The hunting benefits and wildlife habitat improvements
associated with planting food plots is generally well known and widely
discussed throughout the hunting community. Another benefit that has provided a lot of entertainment and a good
census of the bucks on our property is shed hunting in and around these food
plots following hunting season. The
food plots performed great and the amount of shed horns we are finding this
year is proof of that! We have found
more sheds this year than we have ever found in a single year and the biggest
variable that has changed is the type of food plot, Big & Beasty. It’s pretty safe to say that we are going to
keep a spot reserved in our food plot rotation for Big & Beasty from this
point forward!!
